NPR Tiny Desk

My band Among Authors were invited to the NPR headquarters in Washington DC to perform on NPR Tiny Desk. I booked a national tour that coincided with this performance.

KEXP In-Studio

My band Among Authors were invited to perform a KEXP In-Studio session with DJ Kevin Cole. An interesting note about this performance is that for a month leading up to it, I had the band rehearse using different headphone mixes that I purposely mixed poorly so it was difficult to hear each other. I did this because I knew we would be performing using headphones on KEXP, and I wanted us to be prepared and comfortable with any outcome in case we weren't able to hear each other properly.

Echoes of the Plum Grove

Released 02/13/2025 on Nintendo Switch

"Echoes of the Plum Grove" is a cozy farm sim released by Unwound Games.

I was tasked with composing music that evolved from being happy in the summer season of the game, to more melancholy in fall. Eventually leading to pretty dreary and sad music in the Winter season. The developers wanted to give a sense of worry and sadness as you approach the winter season, since NPCs would start getting sicker in the winter and had the possibility of dying. I also composed music for specific events in the game.

The Young Man and the Sea

"The Young Man and the Sea" is a small retro-style story-driven indie game about relationship between two fisherman, a father and his son.

This game is currently under development, therefor I can't divulge much about the project. For now, I've decided to show some implementation work on the project.

My game audio company

BleepBloop Audio

BleepBloop Audio is a game audio company I co-founded. All of my contracted game music and technical sound design work is done through BleepBloop Audio. I designed the logo, as well as the sonic logo with animation. For this project I am demonstrating multiple sound redesigns I've done in which I purposely recorded every day objects in combination with sound manipulation with various plugins in my DAW. Recording Studio Build

Squaremoss Studio

Squaremoss Studio is my recording studio. I designed and built all the sound baffles, and my recording desk. Squaremoss Studio gets it's name from the square 5' x 5' preserved moss sound baffle I built. It has rockwool sound dampening material behind the moss. Another notable feature is the large hexagon ceiling baffle which I designed out of 6 triangular baffles around a center light. Eventually I had to relocate Squaremoss Studio to another location, which I've included a few photos of as well, repurposing most of the sound baffles I built from the original studio.

I built a stereo pair of Hairball Audio's Lola microphone preamps. All components on the PCB boards and faceplates were hand soldered and assembled.

Stage Lighting Build

Among Authors Logo Stage Lights

I built a custom 13 foot wide lighting rig in shape of my band's logo, which is 6 horizontal bars. The lights are controlled by DMX protocol. These are RGBW LEDs mounted in custom boxes with custom fogged plexiglass fronts. The fogged plexiglass helps diffuse the light. You can see the lights in action via the video  below.

ROLE:

    • Measured, cut and assembled all 6 boxes​

    • Mounted LED strips within each box

  • Soldering

    • Soldered custom wires that went from each box to the DMX brain.​

  • Tested the DMX protocol using various stage lighting software to test it's reliability before showtime.
